Thank God for Moms! May 10, 2010

As Sheree mentioned last week, we wanted to take some time to allow you – our readers – to honor your mother publicly. We are excited to be able to give honor where honor is due. And since our culture has dedicated May 9 as “Mother’s Day” we thought we would spend the whole rest of the month thanking God for and honoring some mothers! So, over the next few weeks we will be sharing some of the entries we’ve received. And, for the time being, we are still accepting entries – so please give us a call at the church office! We’d love to hear from you and about your mother!

The following is from 13-year-old Hannah about her mother. Angie, we hope that you are encouraged today as you see what a blessing you are to your daughter:

“My Mom is a great example of love and kindness to me every day. She loves to make sure I have everything I need, and even some things that I don’t need! She makes sure that I am healthy and whole, and takes care of me when I am sick.

Occasionally she will just write me a note for no reason, really, telling me how much she loves and appreciates me, but I think that I appreciate her WAY more. She encourages me to love my siblings, my friends, and God. I love my Mom, and I wouldn’t ever choose a different one.

Love you Mom!”

Hannah, these words about your amazing mom bring joy to my heart as her friend. I trust she is greatly encouraged by them, too!!!
