chris-stephI get to tell you about my favorite person in the world…my best friend…my husband…

Chris and I met we were were just 12/13.  He went home and told his mom he was going to marry me!  I must admit, I was not taken with him in that moment!  :)   In fact, it wasn’t until many years later that my heart turned toward him (even though I had thought many times, “he will make a great husband for someone, but he isn’t my type!” )  God has a sense of humor!

But let me tell you…I couldn’t love my husband any more than I do now, yet, I love him even more than the day that I married him…how is that possible?  As I said in my vows, over 10 years ago, he is my dream come true and the answer to my prayers!  This isn’t to say that we haven’t had our challenging times…we have!  Unfortunately, there have been far too many times when I forget what a gift he is to me – I have allowed circumstances to cloud my view or distract me.  But the Lord has always been faithful to us – seeing us through difficult times – drawing us closer to Himself and to each other.

There are so many things I love about him…but here are a few that are at the top of my list:

- He loves the Lord and is ever seeking to grow and change to become more like Him.  Even in the last year, I have seen SO many changes in his heart and there is evidence of those changes in his daily life.

- He loves me and is committed to me and our marriage.  I love that he still has those “rose colored glasses” when he looks at me!  (He doesn’t see all those physical “imperfections” in me that I see so readily!)

- He is hard working and faithful.  He is true to his word.

- He seeks to lead our children and our home in a way that glorifies God and is preparing for the future.  He is a great daddy!

- He has a GREAT sense of humor.  He makes sure that laughter is part of our daily life! :)

I could continue on, but I will stop here.  I feel so honored and humbled that the Lord chose me to be his wife.  I didn’t deserve such a wonderful man, but I am SO grateful for him.  My prayer is that we can raise our boys to be the type of man, husband and father that he is and that our daughter will marry someone like her daddy! :)

Chris, I love you more than I could ever express in this lifetime…Happy Valentine’s Day!  xo
